Professional InterventionistAnswer: Interventions, if planned properly and with enough family or friend support, will most likely move an addict or alcoholic to seek help. If they do not get help immediately, often times, they will find themselves in a situation where the problem has been exposed, family members have agreed to no longer enable them, and eventually they seek the help. Either way, the intervention usually breaks the cycle and is successful.
